Choosing the Right Location For Your Corporate Event

Planning a Corporate Event? Here's How to Choose the Right Location

There’s a lot that goes into planning a corporate event, you have to think about why you’re gathering and who you need to gather with. You have to identify your event goals and determine the metrics by which you will measure success. And you have to set the stage to ensure that success.

But, as every effective business leader knows, success isn’t just determined by what you do and who you partner with. In fact, gathering the best teams and designing the most productive work strategies aren’t likely to amount to much if you don’t have the right environment to work in.

To be sure, you can always repurpose your old standard workspaces for the event you’re planning. But if you want your employees and partners to get the most out of your upcoming trade show, conference, training seminar, reception, or banquet, taking your corporate event offsite is almost always going to be your best bet.

And, when it comes to rental event space in the San Francisco Bay Area, you’ve got a lot of options to choose from, such as the Chase Center and the Moscone Center. But if you’re looking for something a bit more modest in size and a bit more grand in its historical appeal, then you need look no further than the intimacy and warmth of The Box SF.

A Distinction that Makes a Difference

The Box SF has become the Bay Area’s premier, historic and intimate corporate event space, and it’s not difficult to understand why. The original home of the illustrious William Randolph Hearst’s printing plant, The Box SF building was constructed in 1926 and, in honor of its storied roots, is now home to one of the world’s largest collections of rare books, documents, and print ephemera as well as an array of antique letterpresses.

A working replica of a 19th century mercantile spans the entirety of the Box SF’s ground floor. So authentic is the reproduction, in fact, that the Mercantile frequently serves as the site for film and photo shoots and high touch cocktail receptions as well as private shopping events.

And that’s by no means all that sets The Box SF apart as a destination corporate event space. In the basement is The Sipping Room, a  hidden speakeasy with a fully-stocked bar capable of serving up to 10 guests. This hidden gem is accessed by two antique, movable fireplaces and may be rented as an add-on option for upper floor bookings.

Then there’s the magnificent Gate Room, which encompasses much of The Box SF’s sprawling top floor. The Gate Room derives its name from the majestic antique conference/banquet table, which is made from a 337 year old Chinese village gates. In addition to the Gate Room, the top floor features an adjoining rental space that may be used separately or opened to the Gate Room.

The top floor alone provides enough event space for as many as 80 guests and is ideal for a wide variety of purposes, from speaking events to trade fairs, offsites, tastings and company celebrations.

On the second floor, you’re going to find even more private meeting rooms and breakout suites to meet the needs of most every variety of corporate function. All of The Box SF’s rental spaces are combinable, highly customizable, configurable for training, for roundtable meetings, or for presentations.

Perhaps most important of all, however, is the unparalleled ambiance of this historic space. When you host a corporate event at The Box SF, you’re not just giving your guests a work gathering. You’re giving them an experience.
