Absolutely incredible RARE 1889 German lithographer's sample book/ catalog featuring original labels and paper samples throughout. This 120 page book contains the examples and prices from Frau Melsbach's printing factory out of Sobernheim, Germany. This firm specialized in the manufacturing of cardboard and paper goods/ stationary, regular and stone lithography, the printing of books, as well as various pharmaceutical labels and implements.
This book is in excellent condition! Each label has been printed separately and hand tipped in with a small bit of glu, and all labels are intact and accounted for. There are several pages of document printing samples which fold out. These pages are also in excellent condition with no rips, tears, and virtually no foxing. The spine and binding of the piece are sturdy and secure. This book is a must see for its incredible craftsmanship and as a complete example of printing during the late 19th century.
