Fantastically illustrated "Jeu d'Assaut," French military board game from the turn of the 20th century. This label is unused and would have originally been adhered to a game board or other box. The object of the game is to protect a fortress from invaders, as they follow the spaces up the board, claiming points. This label is printed on light, glossy paper on one side only.

There is some light deterioration to the edges of the piece--mainly on the corner points. There is some light yellowing/ foxing at the bottom, as well as a blemish or two. The central graphics on the label are clean, bright, clear and it displays incredibly well.

Please see our photos for a closer looks at this item. We are happy to combine shipping on multiple items, message us. Thank you!

A rough translation of the game's instructions:

This game consists of a plan representing a fortress defended by two soldiers the player places in the fortress at any two points, and besieged by 24 soldiers who are placed on points outside the fortress. The besiegers are made to advance following the linens--indicated from one point to another--closer to the fortress. They cannot retreat or move on the red linens, while the besieges can move in all directions, but always from one point to another. They also have the right to take (as in the game of drafts) the besiegers when there is a vacant place immediately behind the pawn to be taken. If there was a besieger to take and one of the besiegers forgets to take them, the besieger has the right to blow it. The besiegers win if they manage to occupy the 9 points of the fortress, otherwise, the besieges win.
