Beautiful, decorative Protestant Foster Home Society of Newark membership certificate from 1863 Newark, New Jersey. This lovely document features an elaborate border of black and white ornamentation and light, delicate cursive entitling the recipient lifetime membership to the organization. For a document this old, the piece is in very good condition with subtle fold lines and two small tears to the corner. There is also a longer tear along the middle fold line of the piece which has been repaired with a section of document repair tape. A beautiful example or graphic design and printed history!
