Fantastic 1940's instructional photography book, "New Photography: Lighting and Composition" by Bruno of Hollywood. Bruno of Hollywood's real name was Bernard Bruno, a Jewish refugee who fled Nazi Germany and created a flourishing career for himself as a glamor/ pinup photographer--best known for the earliest photos of Marilyn Monroe. This 56 page instructional book provides information on lighting techniques and artistic posing of models. Each page features a different black and white nude with accompanying text and often some small lighting charts at the bottom. Most of the pages are composed of female models, but there are a few pages of male models at the back of the book.
Condition wise, this piece is in fair shape. It has been through quite a bit during its lifetime. The cover, first page and back cover have come apart from the spiral metal spine. There is heavy deterioration to the front and back covers of the piece, as well as some general deterioration to some of the corners of the inner pages. No restoration has been done to this item and it is being offered as is.
