The Box SF: A Hidden Gem for Intimate Monthly Art and Makers Fairs in San Francisco

Tucked just a couple of blocks from Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, you’ll find an event space unlike any other. Welcome to The Box SF, a one-of-a-kind building where history, creativity, and convenience all come together under one roof.

You may have heard about us because of our ground floor, home to the largest antique advertising store in the world. That alone would be enough to get people talking. But there’s more to The Box SF than fascinating history and vintage press materials. Much, much more.

On the 2 upper floors, we offer full event spaces and meeting rooms perfect for art fairs, pop-ups, and creative shows of all kinds. The top floor and our second-floor suites are ready and waiting for folks who want to do something a little more special, something that feels handcrafted instead of crammed into a big, cold ballroom, or back room at a restaurant or a cramped gallery space

If you’re looking for a fresh spot to host an intimate art fair in San Francisco, it’s time to think inside The Box. And if you are a Vendor, we’d love to have you at one of our monthly Fairs! All the details to participate are on our Website at TheBoxSF.com or our new Instagram page just for our Festivals at http://www.Instagram.com/theboxsffestivals

Why The Box SF Stands Out

San Francisco is packed with venues. Big ones. Loud ones. Flashy ones. But sometimes, you need something different. You need a place that feels personal, where people can really take in what they’re seeing without fighting crowds or straining to hear themselves talk. For our busy Art and Makers Fairs, it’s also a beautiful indoor space, and our team is very supportive of our Creators who showcase with us.

The Box SF isn’t just a room with four walls. It’s a full experience wrapped up in one historic building.

  • Top Floor: Our top floor is a wide-open event hall with massive windows and tons of natural light. It’s roomy enough for an art fair but cozy enough that every vendor and artist still feels close to their guests.

  • Second-Floor Suites: Right below the event hall, we have several private suites that you can use as meeting rooms, breakout spaces, or small gallery areas. Our Artists and Makers also fill this floor monthly.

  • Ground Floor Store: Of course, downstairs is our antique space that’s not your typical shop. It’s a full museum-like space packed with rare packaging, ads, books, and printed treasures. It gives your event an extra bonus that no other venue in the city can match and it looks like an 1850’s County Store.

In short, you get it all without ever stepping outside.

What’s On at The Box SF

If you’re curious about what’s happening at The Box SF, you’re in for a treat. Currently each month we host a series of free weekend events in SF called the Artists and Makers Fair. It runs on Saturdays from 11am to 5pm and Sundays from 11am to 4pm.

No need to RSVP, just show up and enjoy! You’ll find all kinds of creators sharing their work, from handmade goods to vintage finds or tasty edible handcrafted products. It’s a great way to spend a relaxed afternoon, meet local artists, and maybe take home something special.

And if you’re around on a Monday night after one of these fairs, stick around for The Art of Active Networking. It’s a casual event where people from all walks of life come together to connect and share ideas. Hosted by Mark E. Sackett, the owner of The Box SF and based on his well known TEDx Talk, it’s a welcoming space whether you're a seasoned professional, a start-up or just starting your career. These Networking Tips can be used daily.

General admission is $20, students pay $12, and veterans get in free. If you’re a vendor from the weekend fair, you can also reserve a table for $50.

The Magic of a Single Building

When you visit or host an event at The Box SF, everything you need is right inside one building. You don’t have to rent a main space, a breakout space, and a lounge in three different places across the city. You don’t have to send your guests walking around outside between sessions.

You walk in. You explore. You meet. You relax. You shop!

That’s the beauty of thinking inside The Box. It’s simple. It’s smooth. It lets people focus on what they came for, whether that’s art, community, or finding a perfect new piece for their collection. From Corporate Tech Events to Dinners and Weddings, or from an Art Festival to a unique Tasting, The Box SF does it all!

And for the folks planning the event? It means fewer moving parts to juggle. Fewer vendors to coordinate. Less time worrying about logistics and more time making the event itself great.

Not Just a Pretty Space: A Piece of History

Built in the early 1900s, our building still carries the soul of San Francisco’s past. You’ll find genuine vintage details you just can’t fake. It’s the kind of setting that artists and creatives love because it feels like it has stories to tell, which enhances the atmosphere where they tell their own creative stories.

And when you layer your own event into that setting, you become part of the history.

Guests pick up on that feeling right away. They step in and sense that they’re part of something a little more real. A little more lasting. It’s not just about the art on the walls or the vendors at the tables. It’s about the feeling in the air.

Easy to Find, Impossible to Forget

Location matters, especially in a city like San Francisco. Being two blocks from Moscone means you’re right near hotels, restaurants, transit, and all the great stuff about SF that makes life easier for your guests.

People can walk in, spend the day with you, and still have time to grab a great dinner or check out a museum afterward.

And because The Box SF is something they won’t expect, they’ll remember it long after the fair or the event is over. They’ll tell their friends about that art fair, dinner or corporate event in the beautiful historic building with the record-breaking antique shop downstairs. They’ll want to come back.

Ready to Think Inside The Box?
