Antique toy tool box, "The Boy's Favorite Tool Chest," from the early 1900's/ This wooden box is in very good condition for its age. The outside of the box is plain, unadorned and has the usual amount of wear and tear present for an item of this age. There is a small latch on the front container part of the box which closes the top lid securely. Inside the original lithographic label is still bright and intact. The edges of the image have weathered over time, but the main graphic is unblemished and legible. Traces of dried glue can be seen where the lid meets the box--most likely from a former repair or children's project. The chest contains: a drafting compass, a small saw, hammer and several pieces of wood for construction.
