Beautiful and complete "Ames' Alphabets" book published in 1879 by Daniel T. Ames. This nearly forty page book features a different printed alphabet font on every page and is preceded by a small introduction on 'Tracing and Transferring' and 'How to Prepare India Ink.' The illustrations are clear, ornate and gorgeous. A perfect reference for design students and history buffs alike!
Condition-wise, the book is in good condition for its age. The covers and spine have taken the most abuse over the years and have a fair amount of deterioration and blemishes. The binding is still in tact, but must be handled carefully. The first divider page at the front of the book has a large tear which has been repaired with two pieces of tape. Aside from some foxing and small marks, the inside of the book remains clean, clear and legible.
